E-Bike safety is a national issue, especially when it concerns minors. However, local communities, school districts, and cities all have their own ways of dealing with the increasing danger. Not all are equal in enforcement and method. Some school districts ban e-bikes outright, while others restrict use by bike class. In some cases, parents are being held responsible for their children’s offenses. With no clear solutions, how can we protect our children from the dangers of e-bike use for both transportation and recreation?
The French Valley E-Riderz safety campaign is an example of how we can better speak to our children about the dangers of riding e-bikes. Using today’s slang with a relatable character will add a little humor to the situation and help direct kids and their parents to local resources and safety training to navigate busy streets.
